What Should We Do?

Kenny Felsher's proposed solutions from his February 2003 essay, on americanpatrol.com

1. Place the U.S. Military on the border. Stop all illegal immigration immediately.
2. Reduce Mexican legal immigration to levels comparable to other nations.
3. Abolish Dual Citizenship - Both my heart and wallet belong to America. So should immigrants'.
4. Deport all illegal aliens currently in our country.
5. Make Illegal aliens ineligible for all public services.
6. Design & implement a system that verifies an immigrant's eligibility to work in our country.
7. Close down the Mexican Consuls.
8. Remove MECHA from all public schools - Hate should not be tolerated on public campuses.
9. Remove all references to Aztlan and challenges to America's sovereignty from Chicano studies curriculum. Mexican Americans should have pride in themselves. They shouldn't be prejudiced against their country.
10. End bilingual education.

To these, I would add the following:

11. Amend Section 1 of the 14th Amendment of the U. S. Constitution to state that persons born in the United States shall inherit the citizenship status of their mother.  Considering the threat that we now face, and knowing that we are being deliberately colonized with an eye toward reconquista, it is sublimely naive to continue granting citizenship to any child fortunate enough to be born within the territory of the United States.  As I see it, this amendment would answer most of the objections to a "guest worker" program. I'll be glad to let them come here to work if that's all they want, but I oppose automatic citizenship for the children of illegal aliens.

12. Along the same lines, we should enforce the Pledge of Allegiance for citizens and demand loyalty oaths from any public official.  Is it too much to ask for a citizen to pledge his allegiance to the nation that gives the word "citizen" meaning?  Is it too much to ask that those entrusted with protecting this nation should swear their loyalty to it?  And if any Justice on our Supreme Court will not uphold the right of America's citizens to demand this of their leaders and fellow citizens, that Justice should be impeached and replaced with one who will.

13. Pax Parabelum.  Just as its hundred year history of slavery took a national toll in blood and strife, I greatly fear that the seeds of indifference and hostility to our sovereignty and territorial integrity which have been sown over the past thirty years have germinated and grown to the point that a bloody yield is now inevitable.  I see little hope that we will escape a dreadful harvest.

When the "Hispanic" (Mexican) population of Southern California, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Utah, and other regions reaches critical mass, some or all of these areas will undergo a political upheaval and will (in one fashion or another) declare themselves "independent" of the United States.  Mexico will quickly recognize these "new sovereign states" and shortly thereafter accept their request to be annexed.  Resistance or complaint from the United States of America will be met with a smug reminder that these territories were historically a part of Mexico, and that after a lengthy "illegal occupation" the citizens of these lands were merely returning to their roots.

The United States will either acquiesce and allow these states to depart peacefully (taking millions of unwilling American citizens along) or else it will fight a bloody and disastrous civil war and (perhaps) a bloody and disastrous war with Mexico and possibly others. No matter what happens, America will emerge (if it emerges) a weakened shell of its former self.  America as we know it today will be no more.

Pax Parabeluim. Desire peace?  Prepare for war!  Convincing the traitors within our borders and the enemies without that we will, without fail and with every means at our disposal, prosecute any war to defend our territorial integrity could persuade those who seek to carve out a large portion of the United States that the cost would be too high.  By preparing to fight that war now, we may dissuade them from forcing us to fight it tomorrow.

We are still the most powerful nation on earth and we do not lack the means to take any or all of these steps to defend our nation.  What we seem to lack is the will to survive.  And without that, we will not survive.
